We’re back!

Far from Ordinary…. Be Extraordinary.

Our annual “Swim the Canal” event, held during Nicolas Denys Days, is an extraordinary community tradition of fun, festivities and celebration.   In 2019 we had over 325 participants including a dive in by Ana Almeida. Be one of the growing list of extraordinary individuals that can say…… they swam the length of an historic canal!

Why not join us in 2022.

    ONLINE registration usually opens in June and is available until 8 am on the morning of the event.

ONSITE check-in and registration usually begins at 1:30 pm on the Battery Provincial Park side of the canal.  Vehicle entry from Route 4 is at the entrance to Battery Provincial Park, 10110 Grenville Street (Hwy 4).

There are two swim options:  Swim the length or swim the width of the canal:

  1. Length – we swim 800 meters in the world-famous Bras d’Or Lake through the St. Peter’s Canal National Historic Site, ending at Battery Provincial Park beach on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean;
  2. Width – we swim 100 meters from Battery Park to the canal wall and back.
