St. Peter’s and Richmond County Events Calendar

St. Peter’s is a natural hub from which to seek out Cape Breton activities, attractions and experiences whether on land or sea/inland sea. We are within walking distance or a short drive away from some unique Cape Breton attractions and firmly anchored among many traditions and cultures.

Saturday, November 16

20th Annual Christmas Holiday Bonanza will be hosted by the Richmond County Early Childhood

Education Association at the D’Escousse Civic Improvement Hall in D’Escousse.  Events will include a crafters market, meal, recorded entertainment, silent auction, Santa with a treat for every child, bake

table to run all day, followed by a Christmas merchandise bingo at 6:00 pm. Come out and enjoy a festive day filled with Christmas cheer! Thank you for your support!

7pm – 12am – Inn Style Exclusive Runway Fashion Show with Veronica MacIsaac at the Bras d’Or Lakes Inn. 5 hours of fashion, live entertainment and snacks and beverage for the ticket price of $60.00 per person. Come check it out.

Sunday, November 17

9am – 12pm – Community Breakfast at the St. Georges Channel Hall in St. Georges Channel. This is an amazing breakfast experience. Come out and enjoy the event.

1:30pm: – The Men of the Deep Christmas in the Mines Concert at the St. Peter’s Lions Hall, in St. Peter’s.  Tickets $25.00 each, available at Louie’s Cosy Corner, Mack Music, Gerry at 902-623-0220, Jack at 902-345-2487 or Doris 902-345-9495.

Friday, November 22

7:30pm – 10:30pm– Come and join in the fun at Bridget’s Big Birthday Show with entertainer Leona Burkey and special guests. At the Bras d’Or Lakes Inn in St. Peter’s. pay what you can at the door – all donors get a copy of Leona’s wee little new EP and proceeds to Brain Injury NS.

6pm – 8:30pm – Come out and enjoy the Richmond Academy (RECA) annual Christmas Craft Fair!!🎄There will be lots of tables to shop from, snacks, and LIVE music by local musicians. 6pm – Join the St. Peter’s Village Commissioners and the Village of St. Peter’s staff at the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting outside the Richmond Villa. Come welcome in the Christmas season with songs, entertainment and some treats.  Santa Claus will dropping by for a visit.

Ceremony of Remembrance and to raise awareness, with guest readers and a musical interlude brought to you by Strait Area Women’s Place/Leeside Society

6pm – 8pm – Please join us at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre in the Arts and Crafts Room, as we wear our PURPLE RIBBONS and light candles to remember and honor each woman killed in Montreal in 1989, and every woman affected by violence still today. We are inviting to you take a stand with us to REPLACE VIOLENCE with VALUE! Candles & Purple Ribbons Provided and Light Refreshments To Follow Ceremony. Everyone Welcomed.

Friday, December 13

8pm – 11pm – Come in for Yvette Boudreau Live at the Island Nest in Arichat! Cover: $5.00. Yvette Boudreau, Local artist and member/ co founder of Bittersweet band. Grew up playing local variety concerts with my brother and mother around Richmond County and joined a band ” leather and lace at 18 years old with local musicians from Isle Madame until heading to Toronto in 1991….playing solo and with a three piece bluegrass band  a few venues there. From Toronto heading west for 9 years in Fort McMurray, Edmonton and Calgary…playing solo venues there until moving back to East Coast ( Halifax) in 2001 where I reconnected with my brother and we formed the band Bittersweet until present,  playing Halifax circuit and as far as  Richmond B.C. and pier 21 Ottawa.  Her solo show will feature some music I do with Bittersweet, some old favourites, originals and easy listening tunes. My hope is that you can sit back, relax, relate and enjoy the musical journey.

8pm – Robyn Merrick will be performing at The Groundswell Pub in D’Escousse. The one and only Robyn Merrick will be rocking the house,  get ready for an amazing night!

8pm – 11pm – Krista Norman – Christmas Show will take place at the Groundswell Pub in D’Escousse.

They will have the incredibly talented Krista Norman hosting a Christmas style evening of music – come and unwind, spend the evening listening to your favorite songs by one of our favorite people!

8am – 12pm: – Louisdale Lions Community Centre in Louisdale. Last Sunday of each month.
