Ahoy mateys – St. Peter’s is the place to be for Pirate Days celebrations!  We hope you will join in on this annual event with the St. Peter’s community and businesses. There will be a weekend of fun activities scheduled for all ages. Pirates from far and near visit and have promised to bring even more of their friends in 2019! So come to St. Peter’s mateys, by land or sea, September 12 – 15, 2019 and celebrate Pirate Days with us. Find your inner pirate!  But keep your wits about you – you don’t want to be shanghaied!

Those who would like to play and to support Pirate Days can register a number and play your number for $2 each week until March 2019. Half of the bounty collected each week is the prize payout. For more details on the draw and to register stop in at B&E General Store in St. Peter’s.

We are already planning to our 2019 events, again with something for all ages! You can see below what fun we had in 2018!



Pirate Poker Walk
Registration: 5:30 pm – 6 pm
Many village stores and homes are decorated in their pirate finest ready for this weekend! Grab a card for your efforts – and maybe some booty if you play your cards right.
Location: St. Peter’s Lions Hall
Cost: $5/hand

Pirate Days Trivia Night: 8 pm
A night to bring your mates out for interrogation on various landlubber and pirate related stuff.
Location: MacBouch Restaurant and Lounge
Cost: Team of 4/$40

Opening Ceremony: 6:30 pm
Invited Pirates and Special Guests will start of the weekend

Pre-Teen Dance: 7 pm – 10 pm
Ages 9-13. Snacks Provided.

Pirates Wing Nite: 9 pm – MIDNIGHT
Join your fellow pirates and sit back and enjoy your favourite grog, tasty wings and music by Darrell Keigan and Stewart MacDonald. You’ll be transported back to days of olde as the room is full of fellow pirates.
Location: MacBouch Restaurant & Lounge
Cost: Free


Thieves’ Market: 9 am – 5 pm
Check out the Pirate Day Specials at the various merchants and shopkeepers around the village. You won’t need to pilfer this weekend.

Coastal Trail Historic Walk: 9 am
Join the St. Peter’s Community Club for a stroll on the Coastal Trail along the Atlantic Ocean.  Learn how the bay was so important to the Mi’kmaq people, shipping, the navy, pirates and explorers of old. We’ll also walk the beach looking for beach glass, unique driftwood and special rocks.

Pillaging for the Food Bank 10 am – NOON
There will be no mischief going on but the 4-H Club will be at Foodland packaging up food rations for those with a few shillings to share towards our local food bank.

Young Scallywag Activities
10 am – NOON
Children can enjoy activities under the watchful eye of their parents. 
Expect to find both Pirates, Parrots and Mermaids ashore

Cost: Free. Donations Welcome

Pirate Grill: 11 am – 1 pm
Specializing in BBQ’d Pirate Burgers and Sea Dogs. Fill your hollow leg!

Cost: Free for Children under 12

Artisan Market: 11 am – 3 pm

Artisans and crafters journeyed from all around. Maybe even a distillery or two!

Pirate Pet Parade: 1 pm
Bring your pirate-costumed furry friend and brighten up a senior pirates’ day. Location: St. Peter’s Richmond Villa

Sprog Sprint
 Cardboard Boat Race 2 pm – 4 pm
For those under 16 our expert boat builders will provide you and your team with materials and instructions enter.
Bring your own lifejacket.
Location: Battery Park Public Beach

Scallywag Sea Skirmish
Cardboard Boat Race: 4 pm
Only the brave or foolish would take on such challenges to cheat Davy Jones’ Locker! Build your boat ahead of time.

Landlubbers Happy Hour: 3 pm – 5 pm
If you feel becalmed then head over to the tavern and check out the entertainment by the talented Jon Hines. Location: MacBouch Restaurant

Pirate Patio Party: 6 pm – 9 pm
Head over for some grub; a wee dram of your favourite thirst quencher and layback to be entertained by Final Cut. Keep a keen eye open though – the pirate fleet is heard to ply these waters and there will be a ‘Lights on the Lake’ Ships Parade. There may even be some pirates ashore!

Lights on the Lake Ships Parade
 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
The pirate fleet and their motley crews will weigh anchor from the Lion’s Marina and sail out towards Corbett’s Cove seeking fame and fortune. Boats will make 2 passes so you will have a chance to see their lights twice from shore.
Take a stroll at the Marina before they set sail to see how the boats and their crews have been transformed.
Location: Best viewed anywhere from the lake end of St. Peter’s Historic Canal through to Corbett’s Cove.

Cash prizes of $250, $150, $100 in both sail and power categories.

Party Like a Pirate: 9 pm – 1 am
There’s a wholelot of fun set out for a whole lot of landlubbers and pirates to enjoy this evening of live music and dancing at three venues! All are encouraged to dig deep into their clothes chest and put on their finest pirate garb to fete this night away.

Closing Ceremony (following parade)
The judges have scouted the swaggy about town and are ready to name the top three homes, business, boat prizes (sail & power) and Pirate Off Road Nation Best Parade Entry.

Your support throughout the year playing the Toonie Treasure at B&E is the main reason the committee has been able to keep as many activities free for entry and all events at a reasonable cost for families. Our Committee thanks ye loyal Pirates who play each week.

Many businesses in town are onboard with decorating both the outside and inside of the stores as well as dressed up in pirate regalia. The judges will be around on Friday to score the completion so all are encourage to put their best leg forward.

Pirate Pet Parade

Aye, sometimes it’s hard to teller the pirate from the pet!

The Villa is the place to be Saturday at 1:00 pm. Pets and most pet owners will be in full pirate gear parading for the clients and friends and families to win them over. No experience necessary – just a good heart my friends. No entry fee. Prizes and local entertainment. Stay tuned for more.

Scallywag Sea Skirmish

Get the seasoned crew and boat ready beforehand to do battle!

This is a new event for 2018!

Scallywag Sea Skirmish is for those 16 and over and all about building a floating galleon beforehand using approved materials and then launching two or more crew onto the seas to do battle with others. Bounty to the winner!



Sprog Sprints

Build your cardboard vessel on site in time to race!

There are two cardboard boat races  for the kids this year.

The Spog Sprint (novice sailor) is great for families and kids to try out their boating building skills. Just show up the day of the race and we will give you all the materials and an hour to build your boat for one and then enter the race to the finish! One race for 5-9 year olds and one for 10-15 yer olds. No experience necessary. Bring a towel!

Pick up your map with coordinates for the multi cache geocache at the Visitor Information Centre, 10259 Grenville St. (Hwy 4), St. Peter’s, on Thursday and leave the documentation of your success at the last stop.
