    Family Fun Day:
    Join VOCA and friends for a relaxed gathering at the new St. Peter’s Sport and Recreation Field. Walk the track, try the new playground and fitness equipment, and join in a game of washer toss. (Weather Permitting)

    Poker Walk:
    Hosted by Village on the Canal Association. Join us to win prizes for best hand, door prizes and for entertainment & BBQ. (Weather Permitting)

    Family Square Dance: Join local entertainers for an evening of music and square dancing.

    Teddy Bear Picnic:
    Hosted by the Dr. Kingston Memorial Clinic Health Project, this year's picnic will include storytime, crafts, physical activities and a BBQ at noon. Don't forget your favorite teddy bear or super hero - we'll be giving them a medical and dental check up!

    Village Scavenger Hunt:
    The St. Peter’s Village Commission is hosting a Village-wide scavenger hunt.
    Test your directional and problem solving skills to solve all the clues while discovering St. Peter’s!
    Prizes will be awarded.
    Location: Village Kiosk in front of the Post Office.
    Cost: Free
    Time: Registration 2 - 3pm (check back in before 6pm)

    Country/Rock Jam Session at the MacBouch:
    Join one of our local hosts for an evening jam session with a country, rock and traditional music mix.

    Nicolas Denys Museum Open House:
    Hosted by the St. Peter's Community Club, explore three centuries of history of St. Pierre, Fort Toulouse, St. Peter's Canal, and Nicolas Denys.

    Time: 1pm - 4pm

    MacAskill Museum Auction:
    Hosted by the Wallace MacAskill Museum Society, the auction will feature new merchandise, antiques, home baking, gift certificates, door prizes and bidders' prizes.

    Time: Viewing begins at 6pm. Auction opens at 7pm

    Parks Are For People Guided Walk:

    Chalk on the Sidewalk:
    Hosted by local volunteers. Create your own chalk masterpiece! Individuals, children and groups are welcome. Bring your own chalk and create a work of art! Register on-site before you draw and qualify to win a prize. (Weather Permitting)
    Location: East Richmond Education Centre Grounds
    Cost: Free / one sidewalk block per masterpiece
    Time: 11am - 1pm

    Friends of Leona Chowder:
    Hosted by the "Pink Positive" team, enjoy a delicious chowder dinner (seafood and corn chowder available) and show your support for our local breast cancer chapter.

    Pre-Teen & Teen Dances:
    Hosted by This Just In from Richmond County, this is the young band's third appearance at Nicolas Denys Days. This Just In has performed at the Battle of the Bands at the Savoy in Glace Bay and they are scheduled to have a busy summer performing at various locations in Cape Breton. Don't miss what promises to be a great performance!

    Nature Walk:
    There is more wildlife close by than you may imagine. Join us as we look for clues like tracks and droppings while discovering trees, shrubs, and flowers. You may see one of our provincial symbols - the osprey, mayflower, blueberries or red spruce. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather, proper footwear, and don't forget insect repellent. (Weather Permitting)

    Ceilidh at the Inn:
    Join Cape Breton Fiddlers Darren Carter and Robert MacDonald for an old fashioned kitchen party!

    Danny MacDonald Memorial Tournament:
    Co-ed slow-pitch tournament hosted by Richmond Minor Baseball. Register teams by calling Marvin at 535-2137 or Trevor at 587-2094. 1st Prize $600, 2nd Prize $300! (Prize levels based on 8 teams registered)
    Location: St. Peter's Ball Field
    Cost: $250 / team + 2 balls
    Time: Games begin at 6pm

    Deep Fried Turkey & Home Fries:
    Hosted by East Richmond ATV Riders. Our local ATV riders are back this year to bring you a delicious deep fried turkey dinner – Yummy!

    Cost: $10.00/adult, $5.00/child (under 12)

    Film Screenings:
    The Cape Breton Film Makers Association is providing a screening of locally made shorts including "Windows of the Soul (Sci-fi/Horror). Charlie Mac Productions shot the film in 2008 in Big Glen and parts of our very own St. Peter's! Windows of the Soul Synopsis: A young couple meet to go camping at the girl’s old family farm. She soon finds the situation, and her companion, are not what she planned. Winner of the Bronze Palm Award at the 2010 Mexico International Film Festival.

    Hosted by the St. Peter’s Community Club, the craft market will include Paintings, Crafts, Baked Goods, Beach Glass Art, Cards, Photography, Jewelry and so much more. To reserve a Table call the Nicolas Denys Museum @ 535-2379 (no flea market items please).

    East Coast Credit Union BBQ:
    Check out the Ball Tournament and enjoy a delicious BBQ hosted by staff at the East Coast Credit Union. The BBQ will raise funds for Richmond Minor Baseball.

The Nicolas Denys Days festival has evolved over the last few years and has seen many changes. Many groups now host events, resulting in a wonderful fundraising and advertising opportunity for these groups which add so much value to our community.
